How to Download & Install Yuzu Emulator On Windows?

Before you click on the Download Now button begin downloading Yuzu Emulator on your PC, make sure your system meets its requirements.

If your system meets Yuzu Emulator’s requirements, follow the steps written below to download, install and use it on Windows.

  1. First, visit Yuzu Emulator’s Website.
  2. After visiting the site, scroll down and click on the ‘Download Now‘ button.
  3. Before you click on the Download button, make sure you have the latest version of Microsoft Visual C++ installed on your device. If you have not downloaded it yet, click on this link to download it now.
  4. When you click on the ‘Download Now‘ button, Yuzu Emulator will begin downloading.
  5. Before you begin the installation process, make sure to download Yuzu Emulator Prod Keys and Title Keys.
  6. Once downloaded, right-click on it and then select ‘Extract Here’.
  7. When you do so, you will have Yuzu Prod Keys and Titles Keys.
  8. Now, create a new folder name ‘Keys’ and drag and drop Prod Keys and Title Keys into the new folder.
  9. Once you have got Yuzu Prod Keys and Title Keys, head to the Download Folder and install Yuzu Emulator on Windows.
  10. While installing it, make sure you have the ‘Install Yuzu’ or Install Options’ check marked.
  11. After that, click on the Install button.
  12.  When you do so, you will get a message saying ‘Thanks for installing Yuzu!’.
  13. That’s it.

How to Setup Yuzu Emulator on Windows?

Once you have successfully downloaded and installed Yuzu Emulator on Windows, follow the steps written below to set up Yuzu Emulator on your PC.

  1. First, you need to double-click on the Yuzu Emulator icon on your Desktop to launch it.
  2. When you do so, you will see a pop-up window saying ‘Derivation Components Missing’.
  3. All you need to do is click on the Ok button.
  4. Now, click on the File and select ‘Open Yuzu Folder’.
  5. Now, you need to drag and drop the Keys folder here.
  6. Once done, close the File Manager and Emulator.
  7. Now, relaunch Yuzu Emulator and check if you continue to get the ‘Derivation Components Missing’ message.
  8. Now, go to the Emulation option and then select ‘Configure’.
  9. In a window, click on the ‘Graphics‘ option and then select OpenGL in API Settings if you have an Nvidia Graphics Card for better performance. 
  10. If you have either Intel or AMD Graphics Cards, make sure to keep them Vulkan for a smooth experience.
  11. In the Graphics Settings, you don’t need to make any changes.l
  12. Now, go to the Advanced option and checkmark two options — Use VSync and Use Fast GPU Time if you have Nvidia Graphics Cards.
  13. If you have AMD Graphics cards, make sure to uncheck these two options.
  14. If you want a flawless experience while emulating Nintendo Switch games on Windows, make sure to change Advanced Graphics Settings to Normal.
  15. Now, go to the Controls option and then select Pro Controller in Connect Controller option if you are using an Xbox Controller with Yuzu Emulator.
  16. In the Input Device, select ‘Xbox One Controller 0’.
  17. Now, it’s time to upload your game to Yuzu Emulator.
  18. To do so, you need to click on the + icon located on the main screen of the emulator.
  19. Now, navigate to the folder where you have kept your game.
  20. Once navigated, click on the Select Folder.
  21. When you do so, you will have all of your Nintendo Switch games uploaded to the emulator.
  22. If you want to get 1080p, make sure to click on the Handheld option located in the bottom left corner of the screen to change it to ‘Docked’.
  23. Once done, load a game by clicking on its title.
  24. That’s it.

Like other software or emulators, Yuzu does have specific requirements that need to be met to run Nintendo Switch games on Windows, Linux and Android.

Here are the official hardware requirements of the Yuzu emulator:

CPU:

  • Minimum: Intel Core i5-4430 / AMD Ryzen 3 1200
  • Recommended: Intel Core i5-11400 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • Optimal: Intel Core i9-13900K / AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

Dedicated Graphics:

  • Minimum for Linux: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1050 4GB / AMD Radeon R7 240 4GB
  • Minimum for Windows: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1050 4GB / AMD Radeon RX 550 4GB
  • Recommended: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 6GB / AMD Radeon RX 5500 8GB (with “Force maximum clocks” enabled)
  • Optimal: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 3060 12GB / AMD Radeon RX 6700 10GB (with “Force maximum clocks” enabled)

Integrated Graphics

  • Minimum for Linux: Intel HD Graphics 4400 / AMD Radeon R5 Graphics
  • Minimum for Windows: Intel UHD Graphics 730 / AMD Radeon Vega 3
  • Recommended: Intel Iris Xe Graphics / AMD Radeon 680M

RAM:

  • Minimum with dedicated graphics: 8 GB
  • Minimum with integrated graphics: 12 GB
  • Recommended: 16 GB
  • Optimal: 32 GB
